WEEKLY R.E.P.O.R.T
There seems to be a “romanticizing life” trend right now on social media. I find myself time + time again scrolling through these little mundane, romanticized clips, and soaking up every bit of it.
The root of a romanticized life seems to be gratitude, to make even the littlest moments of the day into something beautiful. To pause + acknowledge the things that bring beauty + joy.
This is how Jesus lived as He walked the earth. We see it all throughout the Bible, but the instance first that comes to mind is in Matthew 9. He pauses to pursue Matthew, to invite him to follow Him. He pauses to acknowledge the bleeding woman who touched His robe. Jesus’ ministry was never hurried. He paused to appreciate the moments, the people, the beauty. One of my favorite authors, John Mark Comer, warns, “To walk with Jesus is to walk with a slow, unhurried pace.”
So, on that note — the weekly REPORT is my attempt to pause, express gratitude + acknowledge the places that I am finding beauty + joy in my week.
Here’s what REPORT stands for —
R - READING
E - ENJOYING
P - PLAYING
0 - OBSESSING
R - RECOMMENDING
T - TREATING
Without further ado, here’s this week’s REPORT (!!!)
R - The Meaning of Marriage by Tim Keller
I’ve been reading this with my women’s Bible study + then we gather each week to break down a chapter. It’s been so cool to see how different people perceive the same reading + to learn alongside each other!
E - Fall transition clothes!
It’s still 90-degree weather in Nashville, so I can’t quite pull out my sweaters, but I’ve been playing around with other fun ways to start transitioning to fall! This Madewell maxi skirt is a new addition to my closet + I am obsessed! The brown color is stunning!
P - Pinterest
Been going crazy with the pinning lately + having so much fun curating random boards!
0 - Gilmore Girls
I mean, ya have to. ‘Tis the season! Hot take — I LOVE Dean.
R - Devo for your Enneagram type!
My mentor + I are currently going through the one linked above and have both felt so convicted by it. It truly feels like it speaks directly to me! If you don’t know your enneagram — take a test to find out, and then buy a devotional for your specific enneagram type!
T - York peppermint patties
I always look forward to my two nightly york peppermint patties! I have them while winding down, drinking tea + reading a book in bed! The perfect end to the day!
I’ll be back next week for another REPORT! + I challenge you to do one yourself! Find ways to slow down + thank Jesus for the little things this week.
Xx
